We are seeking the ideal candidate for this professional level position. The position requires the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out the planning, organizing, and conducting effective ongoing special events and advocacy. Additional duties involve public information and community-relations activities. This position is an exempt, salaried position.
The Development Coordinator will participate in community-relations activities, advocacy, development, organization, and coordination of agency benefit activities, maintenance of donor database, and other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Development Coordinator is an integral member of the team, with a concentration in successfully leading the special events and donor stewardship initiatives.
Actively participate in the annual creation of the development plan and follow through on its successful completion.
Coordinates all aspects of fundraising events, including but not limited to event planning, coordination of venue and necessary materials, coordination of event volunteers, event setup and tear down.
Collaborates with event committees, including running meetings, taking meeting minutes and sending them to committee members in a timely fashion. Work in conjunction with committees and Director of Development in establishing and adhering to event budget, offer event insight where applicable, and attend events to assist in set up, implementation, and clean up.
Maintain/organize the development database, Network For Good, including pulling reports as needed.
Processes donations and donor acknowledgements in a timely manner.
Assists Director of Development with the communications program for The Arc of the Ozarks including but not limited to: newsletters, brochures and press releases.
Creates and cultivates content for all social media platforms of The Arc of the Ozarks.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Associates or bachelor’s degree in communications or closely related field from an accredited college or university and one year of responsible experience, above the entry level, in resource development, community relations, public relations, or agency development preferably in the not-for-profit arena.
Three years of responsible resource development, community relations, public relations, or agency development experience (volunteer or staff), one year of which must have been above the entry level, involving a variety of situations applicable to resource development in the not-for-profit arena, and graduation from an accredited high school.
Knowledge of and an advocate for persons, programs, and services for individuals with mental /developmental disabilities. Knowledge of the Greater Ozarks Community is desirable, but not essential.
