Anchor/Reporter Job Description:

KOLR10 in Springfield, Missouri is looking an Anchor/Reporter. We want someone who understands impactful storytelling and how to connect with viewers. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator; both on-air and behind the scenes. Our next Anchor/Reporter must have the ability to develop enterprise stories and deliver dynamic live shots.

Additional Job Description:

• Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner.
• Ensures that content meets company standards for journalistic integrity.
• Must be a great communicator with team members.
• Joins in editorial meetings and pitches stories.
• Ready to field anchor when called upon.
• Responds quickly to breaking news.
• Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Edits video clips as assigned.
• Interacts with viewers/users on social media.

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Journalism or related degree required (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education)
• Three (3) years television anchoring or reporting experience required
• Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation
• Strong reporting skills
• Understand importance of social media
• Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar and organizational skills
• Promotes teamwork and maintains attitude of cooperation with all station personnel
• Operate newsroom computer systems
