We are currently seeking applicants for a Supervisor of the Service Desk in our Information Services division located in Springfield, MO. 


The Service Desk Supervisor has the primary responsibility for long term strategic planning and security to ensure that the desktop computing needs are met for the Cooperative.  This position manages the design, procurement, deployment and support functions required by desktop systems and end users.  This also includes the critical desktop infrastructure within the Energy Management System. To do this effectively, they are also responsible for continuously improving the ITSM processes needed within the service desk and partnering with the Digital Workplace team to develop the tooling needed. 


This supervisor routinely interfaces with cross divisional staff, management, project stakeholders, and all computer users across the cooperative. Relationships are critical to the success of this position.  Internally, relationships must be maintained with the other leaders across IS to measure the effectiveness of the support delivered and to left-shift application support off the other areas of the IS organization.  Externally, relationship must be maintained with key contacts across all of the divisions of AECI to continually improve the support services being offered.


This position is responsible for supervising the support analysts within the team. This includes performance management, training, and development.  This position is also responsible for maintaining a healthy culture within the team.


Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a computer science related field or demonstrate comparable experience.
  • Three or more years of end user and helpdesk support experience.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory, group policy objects, Microsoft Exchange, DNS, DHCP, enterprise trouble ticketing systems and remote systems management tools is desired.
  • The ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve problems, i.e. strong diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communications, interpersonal, and supervisory skills are required.
  • Knowledge of information systems security principles and methods used to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.


Working Conditions

  • Works primarily in an office environment.
  • Spends time in server room exposed to background noise levels greater than 75dbm.
  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Job duties often involve time worked outside of normal weekly schedule, including some availability during off hours.


Physical Demands

  • Job duties involve sitting, standing, walking, repetitive motion, and dexterity.
  • Substantial time is spent viewing computer displays.
  • Lifts computers and displays weighing up to 40lbs unassisted.
  • May traverse multiple flights of stairs several times per day.
