Purpose of Position 

The Mechanic I performs skilled maintenance, diagnosis, and repair work on motorized equipment, heavy equipment, and vehicles, under the general supervision of the Shop Supervisor. This position is governed by the Greene County personnel policy manual and safety manual. 

Minimum Training and Experience 

Required to Perform Essential Job Functions High school diploma or equivalent with two years’ experience in the repair of motorized equipment or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit upon hire. Must obtain and maintain as a condition of employment a Missouri Class A (CDL) Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes, manual transmission, and fifth wheel authorizations, within 60 days of hire.
