Position
Description: The Program Director is primarily responsible for insuring program excellence and fulfillment of the strategic plan as it relates to the programmatic goals of the organization. The position reports directly to the Executive Director and/or Executive Committee.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development / Participant Recruitment and Retention
· Design and supervise the annual production of content for the SNS Program. The SNS Program includes video content, curriculum, all peripheral printed materials, School Clubs, PSA contests, and other programmatic elements. Design and production of the SNS Program necessitates collaboration with our Creative Director, and all other team members.
· Collaborate with fellow directors in the supervision of staff-assigned tasks associated with carrying out the responsibilities of the Program Director
· Develop, execute, evaluate and report participant recruitment strategies, and update recruitment strategies to ensure appropriate engagement and registration is occurring.
· Maintain consistent and professional communication with all registered school and other participant contacts throughout the school year. This includes responding to all program inquiries and assistance needed by participants.
· Promote SNS Program and School Club participation locally and across the state by building and maintaining relationships with participants, including school-based contacts such as teachers, counselors, principals, as well as non-school based leaders of organizations with a mission of improving the lives of youth.
· Track all program statistics including information about school registration numbers, school retention rates, program complete rates and pledge rates.
· Research, plan and execute evaluation strategies to ensure that programs are making a true difference for youth and parents statewide.
· Use evaluation results to shape future programmatic goals.
· Assist the Public Relations Director by generating evaluation statistics for grant applications, sponsor reporting and program promotion.
· Travel as needed statewide to attend and exhibit at statewide conferences, prevention-related events, visit schools, and to conduct focus groups.
Video and Other Program Content
· Collaborate with staff to deliver the highest quality educational video and written content to youth and parents as a part of the Safe and Sober program.
· Research and develop best practices designed to effectively present prevention education to youth, parents, community leaders and donors.
· Collaborate with staff on video production process (RFP, Vendor Solicitation, Script Aid, Talent Aid, Video Edits, Final Video, Upload Video to Appropriate location) on an average of 10 projects a year (usually 25-30 video segments involved).
· Participate in video concept brainstorming sessions for all Safe and Sober videos.
· Collaborate with fellow directors, board members, and vendors to ensure video production practices and end-product are consistent across the brand.
· Conduct focus groups as needed.
· Coordinate production of classroom curriculum and related materials that align with state and national standards.
· Strategically advise the Safe and Sober team on relevant and timely ways to better connect with youth by speaking their language or addressing themes that are important to them.
· Collaborate with graphic artists in the design and production of all printed program materials.
· Serve as the primary contact to all Safe and Sober video production vendors and partners.
· Collaborate with staff in developing written copy for video production, and travel to video shoots as necessary to help staff and video production partners find the location, set up the equipment and shoot the content.
· Manage major digital media partnership with external agencies.
Program-related Grants - Fiscal and Administrative Management
· Ensure grant goals and all reporting deadlines are met in connection with all active grants.
· Preparation of annual grant applications, quarterly reports, awards, processes, vouchers, and reimbursements associated with our Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Highway Safety and Traffic Division 405d grant, and any regional MoDOT coalition funding applications.
Financial Performance and Viability
In collaboration with all Director-level employees, develop and maintain resources to ensure the financial health of the organization, including:
· Research, application, tracking and reporting for grants originating at the local, state, or national level.
· Fulfillment of all grant-related responsibilities
· Management of grant applications, awards, processes, vouchers, and reimbursements.
· Meeting grant goals and reporting deadlines for grant renewals.
