Purpose of Position 

Under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, the responsibilities of the Welder I position include fitting, joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other welding material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules. This position is governed by the Greene County personnel policy manual and safety manual. 


Minimum Training and Experience 

Required to Perform Essential Job Functions High School diploma or GED required. Two to four years welding experience or related field. Tape Measurement and Blueprint reading skills required. Aluminum welding and heavy equipment manufacturing experience a plus. Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to comprehend welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts. Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Demonstrate willingness to work with others in a team environment. Maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment in order to reach a common goal. Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit upon hire. Must obtain and maintain as a condition of employment, a Missouri Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes, manual transmission, and fifth wheel authorizations, within 60 days of hire.
