Video Games to learn Job Skills? Absolutely!

3/4/2020

What if I told you that your kids could start preparing NOW for in-demand jobs that haven’t even been created yet? Would you invest your time and resources into providing your kids with the training and skill development to help give them that leg-up? Sure, they have a piggy bank in their room, or maybe you’ve already set up a Savings account or 529 plan. But what about helping them learn skills essential to jobs of the future, all while they’re having fun? We know kids love video games, but what if they learned to BUILD the games they play?

Investing your time and resources now, into helping kids learn computer science, robotics, programming, and STEAM is just that – an INVESTMENT in their future. Research tells us that 67% of new STEM jobs are in Computer Science. Currently, there are around 500,000 openings for jobs in Computer Science, yet only 10% of STEM graduates are in Computer Science. Computer Science encompasses more than “fixing a computer” or typing lines of code on a black screen in a dark room. Cyber Security, Web Development, Mobile App Development, and Market Research Analysis are some of the fastest growing fields in Computer Science.

The Code Ninjas Computer Science Education Center, located in Springfield, MO, has been established to help prepare today’s children for tomorrow’s workforce. By integrating what kids are most interested in – video games, robotics, and STEAM Experiments – Code Ninjas teaches children as young as 5 coding concepts and computer science skills. As they grow in the program, children have the opportunity learn computer languages such as Java Script, C#, and Python, all while learning video game design and development. But there are so many other opportunities as well. Want to learn about robotics? You got it. Roblox junkie? No problem – learn how to design and create your own games. How about Drones? Got that too....and so much more!

What’s more than just learning about computer science, programming, and robotics, is the growth in confidence, math, logic, and problem-solving that accompanies the journey. So yes, your child is having fun building video games and programming robotics, but they are also preparing for future careers with their gained knowledge of programming languages, critical thinking, and the ability to troubleshoot problems.

So, take the time to learn more about investing in your child’s future in an environment where they can learn skills for future careers all while building on their love of video games. It is never too early to instill the love of learning and creativity! Learn more at https://kidscode1.com/cnspringfield.
