Join us for the grand opening celebration of CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency and Family Medical Care Center! 

Since its inception in 1987, CoxHealth Family Medicine Residency has produced family physicians that provide medical services to our community. They are a three year training program that graduates 10 physicians per year, with approximately 50% of the residency graduates staying in the greater Springfield area. Those medical services include outpatient primary care, hospitalist medicine, urgent and emergent care, as well as pediatric and obstetrical care. 

Additionally the new clinic site at the Wheeler Heart and Vascular Center will serve as the new home of Family Medical Care Center, their primary care clinic. This clinic serves as the primary training site for 24 of their 30 resident physicians. The remaining six residents receive their outpatient clinical training at the Jordan Valley Community Health Center Tampa Street location. Our partnership with Jordan Valley CHC, a federally qualified health center, has improved the education of the resident physicians while allowing them to continue to serve patients across Springfield.
